One of our favorite days of the whole year is Cookie Day at my parents house. We started this tradition when I was young of baking a huge batch of sugar cookies on a Saturday in December then sitting down as a family to frost and decorate them. I was so excited to spend the day with my family and continue this tradition with Audrey and Jonah getting in on the action for the first time! I love that as the boys get older they are just as excited about it as we all are and they are so interested in helping roll out the dough, decorating the cookies, and of course eating them!
It was such a perfect winter day this year, we got probably 6 inches of snow just in the time that we were at my parents house. The boys loved their first real chance to play outside this year and helped Papa shovel the sidewalks and around the cars. I just love this day and look forward to all the kiddos getting bigger so they can continue the tradition.
Audrey loved her first Cookie Day and looked great doing it with her onesie that said "One Cute Cookie" that her Auntie M bought for her!!
The boys did such a great job helping Grandma and their Mom make, roll out the dough, and cut out all of the shapes. The recipe makes A LOT of cookies so they lost interest after a bit but it was fun for them to help! While the cookies baked they enjoyed the great winter day!
After Luke woke up from his nap it was time for the best part...decorating them!
The cookies taste just as good every year! We had such a wonderful time with each other and look forward to the rest of the holiday season ahead!
